Chapter 9:Rejection

"I never loved you Benjamin! I used you,to make Thorn jealous!" Silk's cold-hearted words still echoed through Benjamin's head, causing him claw the ground in pain, everytime he relived the moment. "You're lucky I'm even letting you live! Leave my territory now!" Benjamin just didn't understand. He never expected Silk to turn on him like this.
But that wasn't what bothered him. It was what she said after that, that had made him nervous. "Benjamin, watch where you're going, and keep your ears pricked.I will find you. And when I do,you'll finally wake up." Ben shuddered, thinking of what would happen if he had came face to face with Thorn again. An image of himself with a gash in his throat, and Thorn's mocking eyes popped into his head. Panicking at the sight,he quickly shut down the idea.
Instead,he decided to think about the dream he had a few nights before. He didn't see anything in the dream, except just plain darkness. He heard a mysterious voice, too. "Hello?" It called.Benjamin tried to answer the voice, but wasn't able to speak. "Hello!?" A dim light had faded in,and a shadowy figure swooshed past him. And then,he woke up,startled.
Ben sighed, and clumsily dragged himself off of his paws. "Oww!" He yowled,as he felt a throbbing pain go through his shoulder, obviously from Silk. "I need to get away from here." Benjamin thought, realizing how close he was to Silk's territory. He shrugged, and started walking father and farther, amd deeper and deeper into the forest.
"I started a new life once already. Now,I have to do it again."

Chapter 8:Silver Lining

Wade woke up,startled, from the dream he just awoke from.Wade stretched his eyes, wide, still shocked, and groaned. He drowsily brought himself to his paws, and dragged himself into a sitting position. "What was that about?" Wade muttered questionly to himself.  He started to think about it,and couldn't help but smile to himself.
He had seen Silver. Wade thought about her-now starry-figure,and noticed her scent still mingling in the air. Wade was worried about her. "I know you miss me Wade, and I miss you too.But please do not worry about me,or who murdered me." Wade had heard urgency and edge in her voice, and she looked tired and sick from worrying about something."Goodbye for now,my mate." Those were the last words she muttered to him,as she faded away into the ranks of Lumious, once more.
It had stung at first.Wade felt like,he had lost the only one he ever cared about, again. But,the pain didn't last long,as something else faded in,appearing in her place. He saw a cat, smaller than himself, sitting atop some sort of fence post. The cat was grayish, with a pitch black stripe going down his back. He had red stripes on his face, and a red tipped tail, and ears. He noticed the cat had a blue marking on his side, and a scar over one of his eyes.
"Hello..?" Wade had tried to speak to the starnge cat,but he didn't seem to hear him. The cat's eyes looked watery, and he looked heartbroken. "Hello!?" He tried speaking to the cat again. This time, the cat turned his head towards him.He climbed down off the fence post, and started walking towards Wade. But then,Wade woke up,not knowing who this cat was,or why he had anything to do with Wade.
Wade sighed, remembering how mysterious Lumious was. "I guess I'll have to wait, until I find the answers." He muttered. Then, her remembered one more thing that Silver told him. "Wade, don't let the past change your future."

Chapter 7:Riot

"Benjamin, knock it off!" Silk screeched,as she sat down next to Thorn. Ben had no idea what happened. The day after he saw Thorn go to the site of the car accident,Silk had been barking at him,non-stop. "And by the way,Benjamin..."Thorn started. "I know you were following me,a few days back. I could smell your scent on the way back." Benjamin's eyes widened, and his face flushed with embarassment. He wished to be anywhere, but there."I-" Benjamin started. A deep growl rose in Thorn's throat, and Benjamin padded away, half saddened, and half confused.
He didn't understand. What had happened? Ben shook his head, and started out into the forest, almost expecting Silk or Thorn bark at him,and tell him he couldn't do that either. Thankfully, they didn't.Benjamin just needed some time to think. Suppose I should...leave...? Ben thought, then quickly shook away the thought. He had nowhere else to go,and leaving would be a bad choice.
Ben just sat for awhile, thinking. He wondered what had happened to his twoleg owner, and if they survived or not. Oh how I wish I was at home with you now... Ben thought, sorrowfully.Ben had suddenly felt so worried, like the entire forest was in his paws.Benjamin exhaled, and tried to relax. He stared around, wondering what else was in the forest, outside of Silk's territory.Suddenly,he heard the bushes russle, and saw a flash of purple shoot by.
Benjamin jumped up immediately, and pricked his ears, alert. "Who's there!?" He fur bristled, and he looked from side to side, waiting for whatever it was to charage out. He stood there for a moment, and let his fur lie flat. What it was,it was gone now.
"Benjamin!" He heard a growl come from behind him,and saw Silk's sleek shape coming from a distance. Ben started to walk towards her, when the most unepected happened. She pounced towards him, knocking him off his paws. scratched him across his face, and pinned him to the ground.Ben tried to struggle free, but it was useless. She was too strong. "This is the end,Benjamin."

Chapter 6:Finding the truth

"My brother..." The strong tom meowed painfully,as he dropped a single flower across the stone. Thron had been acting weird all morning. He wasn't talking much, and he hadn't given Benjamin any trouble. Instead,he was watching him. But he didn't send Ben any hard stares,or dirty looks. He would just watch him,and look as if he was remebering something painful.
Later in the morning,Ben saw Thorn sneaking away from the cave. When he left, instead of looking hotheaded and distgusted,he looked timid. So Ben followed him,and now they were here.Ben stood atop of a grassy hill outlook, which was large enough to be a small cliff. Below the hill, was Thorn,in front of a stone, surrounded by flowers.
Around Thorn and the stone, there were remains of what looked like some sort of car. The remains went all down the side of the hill, and there were faint skid marks, telling Ben that no one had been here in  awhile."How could you let us and the others get into a car accident...?" Thorn mewed, sorrow masking the normal fierceness in his voice. Benjamin's ears pricked. A car accident...?And Thorn was a housecat!? Benjamin leaned in,struggling to hear his voice, which was growing softer, and softer.
"Everyone died in that accident, including you.I was the only survivor, and you left me all alone..." Thorn continued. Ben looked at the cats' figure, which looked frail and weak, even with the deep scars lining his pelt. "And it's all your fault!" Thorn suddenly looked angry. His fur bristled,as he ruined the flower beneath his paws. He growled loudly, and gritted his teeth.
Benjamin held his breath, knowing that if Thorn had seen him,he'd be dead. Thorn calmed down once more, and looked in pain again. Ben exhaled in relief. "I'm sorry for everything...I miss you Benjamin." Thorn turned his head, and was staring at the junk that came from the car, probably wishing he could find a way to get rid of it.
But Benjamin didn't pay any attention to that. He was too shocked. Did he just say Benjamin!?

Chapter 5:The Change

"Benjamin, huh? What an odd name." Be shuddered,as those words rang through his ears, over and over again. He had been staying with Silk for a few weeks, and the other cats she lived with were all friendly to Ben. Except one.
Thorn was a muscular, tan colored tabby cat. He had a crooked jaw, apparently from a dog pack. One tooth stuck out of his mouth, making him look fiercer than he already was. His claws were huge, like thorns, and his shoulders were broad and powerful looking. He had two large nicks in his ears, and a purple colored scar over one of his eyes. The eye with the scar over it,was discolored a bit,and had shades of light colored pink, staining his blue eye. And not to mention,he had scars lining his pelt, and making his beautiful colored pelt, ruined.
"Benjamin." He turned his head, toward Silk, who sat curled up next to him."Yeah?" Ben shuffled his feet, and kept his attention towards Silk, although Thorn was keeping a close eye on them."Y-you mean alot to me." She purred, half nervous of his reaction, half happy. Ben licked her ear,not knowing what to say, especially with Thorn keeping him in view.He snorted, obviously wanting Benjamin to hear him,and gave him a hateful look. As if he was tired of looking at him,he turned his head the other way,now facing the cave wall.
But the truth was,she meant everything to him too. If it wasn't for her,he'd probably be dead by now. And not just that, she taught Benjamin how to hunt, and live in the forest. She helped him get through everything, and he loved her for that.Ben got up,and stretched. He walked to the cave opening sluggishly, and stepped outside.
Suddenly,he felt a large paw whack him on the shoulder. Ben tried to wrestle himself free, but the paw kept hold of him. "Listen twerp.I'm watching you. Make one wrong move, and you'll suffer the consequences." The voice rasped, selfishly. Ben blinked in shock,as he realized who it was.
It was Thorn.

Chapter four:A different path

"Wade, help!" His heart sank as he heard his mate's bone-chilling cry for aid, as he swiftly darted back towards the den. He had only gone out for a simple hunt, and leaving his mate back home to drown in her slumber. Just catching his limp prey, the horrifying sound emerged from the bushes, setting his mind into instant panic mode. His mind filled with the terrifying thoughts of losing Silver, his love. The only cat he had ever truly cared for. He held his breath as he charged straight through the knife-pointed brambles, feeling the warm blood seep down the back of his neck.
"You'll be okay Silver, I'm coming!" He caterwauled at the top of lungs, cracking the dense morning air. His heart sputtered faster, as wet tears drained down his face. His sight blurred.
"It's okay." He pondered, attempting to ease his shaky nerves. "It's merely a harmless scrape, nothing more. Everything is going to be fine..." Little did he know, the horrifc truth was far from harmless.
He paced and sorted through their memories, from the very moment they met after his life-saving feat against the viscious rogue, to that very day, when he first greeted her with a warm smile.
Her scent sluggishly started to crawl up his nose as he finally approached camp grounds, mingling with the reaping scent of scarlet blood. He peered up, only to gasp in shock and utter horror.
"Silver, no!" Blood oozed from her appearingly motionless body, uncomfortably swimming towards the bottom of Wade's paws. His mind stopped. Standing in the scarlet pool, he softly murmured her name once more, only to be struck with the dreadful truth.
She was gone. She was dead, done for. Her throat foamed with the vulgar gore, travelling all the way down the center of his underbelly. Dark, matted gray fur splashed and mixed with the afflicting sight, and blended between her claws.
Wade didn't wish to admit it, but he knew it was true. Her killer-The rogue he had saved to her from moons upon moons ago. He had finally gotten what he had wanted, he had gotten his revenge. And now, Wade's entire life was a nightmare.

Chapter Three:A New Beginning

"Oof!" Benjamin cried,as his attacker threw him to the ground. Ben had know idea what was going on. He had jus been walking, trying to find shelter, and food. But instead of that,he was attacked. Benjamin had no idea what his attacker was, either. Its scent was masked, probably from the rain that fell,a little before Ben was attacked. "Who are you?" He heard a fierce voice yowl in his ear,and he opened his eyes to slits. He easily figured out who his attacker was. It's another cat! Benjamin's eyes widened, and he saw a sleek, but strong looking she cat staring down at him. "Well? Who are you?" She demanded, and Benjamin wondered if he should answer her or not. She move her paw to his throat, and Ben panicked. "Who.Are.You?" Her eyes were burning with annoyance, and hatred. "Err...I'm Benjamin..." The she-cat looked at Benjamin hard,as if she was reading him. Her gaze softened a bit,but she kept her paw on his throat.
"And why are you on my territory?" She stood there waiting for an answer. Ben had no escape. "I-I..." Ben looked around nervously, and then finally breathed out. "I'm sorry,I didn't realize this was your territory. I-I'm new to this forest. And the only reason I'm here is because I got abandoned in a plane cr-" Ben stopped as he heard the she-cat's voice mew ring above his own voice. "Stop. That's enough." She picked her paw up off his throat, and let him get up. Benjamin breathed a sigh of relief.
She laughed a bit,and smiled at him. "Don't worry,I'm no threat to you. I just needed to make sure, that you're no threat to me." He eyes filled with warmth, and she smiled again. "So,you're new to these parts, huh?" She asked curiously, and Ben nodded. "Well, since you don't seem to have a place to stay, why don't you go back with me? I live with a small group of cats,a little deeper in the forest." She smiled warmly, hoping that he'd take the offer.
Ben thought about it,and finally figured it was probably best, for now at least. "Umm..Sure...If you don't mind having me." Her eyes lit up with happiness. "Of course we won't mind! Sometimes we like to have vistitors,or else it gets boring. Now c'mon, follow me." She started walking deeper in the forest, and Ben followed. A new home,a fresh start. He kept reminding himself. "Oh,and by the way,I'm Silk."
